Main company types in Mauritius
Global Business Company (GBC)
The most commonly used vehicle for international structuring. A GBC can access Mauritius's network of double taxation agreements and benefits from a low effective tax rate, subject to meeting substance requirements.
Domestic Company
A company carrying on business primarily in Mauritius. Subject to the same Companies Act as a GBC but without the international tax treaty benefits.
Authorised Company
A simplified structure for companies carrying on business outside Mauritius. Lower compliance requirements, but no access to treaty network.
